Happy Halloween just a little late :-) I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture!!!
Now that I'm getting a bit caught up: The weekend before Thanksgiving, John was at Nanny and Pawpaw's house (they brought him home with them that Friday). That next day, John realized that he didn't pack his football pants or jerseys for the time away. Nanny immediately informed him that I had packed them for him since he forgot to. He proclaimed "I really love my Mommy" and then said "Nanny, but do you know who may favorite love is? The love of my life is Aaron". Isn't that the sweetest thing every? I will say that I truly believe that my boys have a very special relationship. John simply ADORES Aaron and Aaron thinks that John hung the moon. Aaron loves picking up John from school! The minute we turn the corner at CR 90, Aaron is saying "bubbaaaaaa" and smiling. I'm a lucky, lucky Mom. May they always be so in love with each other!

Part 2

As James was reading over my latest entry, he corrected me: In a conversation this evening, John Landon informed his Dad that he was going with Reaghan again. He's still not going with Emily...

John Landon a/k/a "The Heartbreak Kid"

Okay...I've been sooooo tardy in posting, but something REALLY cute happened and I wanted to make sure to document it.....John Landon and I spent an hour after school in his library reading and on the way home in the car, the very casual conversation went a little something like this: John: "Mom, Reaghan and I broke up today"; Me: "Really?!? What happened?"; John: "Well, another girl came up to me at recess today and said she wanted to go with me, so I told Reaghan and Emily that I had to break up with them both." Me: "OH MY JOHN LANDON! What did they say?"; John: "Nothing really....they didn't care...you know I kissed Emily, right?!?"; Me: "No....when?!?"; John: "Ahhh, one day in her room at her house. I kissed her on the lips."; Me: "Really? Well, don't you think you're a bit young to be kissing girls?"; John: "No, not really. My new girlfriend wanted to kiss me today, but I just told her no."; Me: "Well, what is her name?"; John: "I don't know."; Me: "You don't know what your girlfriend's name is?"; John: "No....maybe Natalie?!?"; Me: "OH MY JOHN LANDON!"

John + Emily

John and Emily have been friends for as long as I can remember. I truly believe that it really is a special friendship that few share at this age. If they could, they would spend days and days and days together...rarely tiring of each other. Emily has spent many a weekend at our house and John has loved it! We were taking John to the rodeo to ride in the Grand Entry parade this year and leaving Aaron at home. We asked John if he would like to bring a friend, and he thought long and hard and decided on Emily (honestly, he wanted to ask Alexander too, but since Alexander was going with his parents later that same week and also riding in the Grand Entry parade, he decided Emily would enjoy it too!) They had such a fun time and thoroughly enjoyed their "date". John refused to get dressed until Emily came over and he could see what she was wearing so that he could match her. It was really a sweet, sweet night!
Oh, and John recently informed me that he guessed he would have to marry Paige, Emily's big sister. When I questioned him as to why he wasn't going to marry Emily, he responded "cause she told me she just couldn't marry me". :-)

Happy Valentine's Day!

This shows what John's poor nose looks like! It was TERRIBLE! What's funny about it is that it actually looked light a "heart" on the tip of his nose and I overheard several ladies in the hallway talking about the "little boy that had a heart tattoo on his nose" Ha!Ha! Leave it to John!

YOU DID WHAT!?!?!?

Okay...so here's what happened. We went to the post office to mail some packages. John got out of the car and waited on the sidewalk for Aaron and I to get out and get our packages together. I noticed that John's nose was really red, but didn't really think much of it -- actually, I just thought that he had been picking his nose AGAIN... We went inside and after a couple of minutes, John came up to me and started crying saying that he burned his nose on the light outside. I obviously had no idea what he was talking about, but once I questioned him again, I realized that the sidewalk lights were on outside since it was a cloudy day and he bent down to see it and his nose touched the cover and burned it. We went to see Amy to ask her what she thougth we should do and she sent us to the ER to get it taken care of. Needless to say, I don't think John will be "snooping" around the lights anymore! It's hard to see in this picture the extent of the burn, I'll post another one to show it a couple of days later.

John cracks me up!

In March, John decided that he was a Monster Truck driver and drove the jalopy all over the place! He has such a vivid imagination!

A first for Aaron Sloan!

We took our first bike ride on the back of Mommy's bike! Aaron wasn't really sure that he liked it or not, but went along for the ride anyway! I think the helmet is so big for him that he has a hard time holding his head up!!!

Happy 100th Day of School!

It was the 100th Day of School and they had a HUGE celebration! John (okay...I mean "Johnny") :-) decorated his own shirt for the occasion!

Pajama Party Fun!!!

The PTA at John's school hosted a "Pajama Party" reading night. You were supposed to wear your favorite pajamas and come to read books with your friends. After dinner, Jimmy told John to go put on his favorite pj's so that they could get going and not arrive late. Well, John did what he was told.....I WAS CRACKING UP!!!! I think the look on his Dad's face was absolutely PRICELESS!

Needless to say, John didn't wear his favorite pajamas...instead, he opted for his "famoclauge" pj's that the Happy Cupid left for him :-)

Happy Hibernation!

John's class was studying hibernation in February and he simply could not wait to bring Honeyfitz with him to school! John dressed Honeyfitz in the same outfit that he bought for Aaron to wear and brought him to school to hibernate overnight. It was really, really cute!

Time to Get "Caught Up"

So much has been going on with us over the last couple of months and I just haven't taken the time to post, so here's a HUGE "what's new" for us :-) Towards the end of January, John and Alexander made there way to the Monster Jam. They had SO MUCH FUN!!! Along for the ride were Uncle Bobby, Aunt Teresa and cousins, Jennifer, Jana and newly adopted, Justin! Here are a couple of pics to remember the evening!!!

Flu, Flu Go Away!!!

Well, it first started with John -- Tuesday he started feeling crummy and it just kept getting worse -- the doctor confirmed on Thursday that it was the flu. His fever got as high as 103.6. Thursday night/Friday morning, we spent some time at the Emergency Room -- John woke up with a horrible ear ache. It was a middle ear infection and the doctor had a really hard time getting into his ear canal to check it out. When it was all said and done, his ear was bleeding...YUCK! He was in so much pain and it just broke my heart. This sounds terrible, but I really wish I had my camera with me. He looked so sweet and brave laying in the hospital bed waiting for the doctor to come in. Then, this morning, Aaron awoke with a 103.3 fever. Needless to say, it's the flu too, so we just have a couple of more days hopefully before he'll get to feeling better. Jimmy and I are just hopeful that we don't get it as well......

Happy Weekend!!!

We had a lot going on last weekend. First, we had a birthday party at the Angleton Recreation Center (the same place we had John's birthday party!). John absolutely LOVES swimming there! We had planned to go to our friend, Sophia's, birthday party after it, but John was so tired that not only did he fall asleep on the way home, but he took a 2-1/2 hour nap after he got home!!! On Sunday, John wanted to go ice skating again at the Galleria, so off we went. Here are some pictures from our days!!!

Say Cheese!!!

Aaron has been so funny lately! Here are some pictures of him eating his snacks (he's actually graduated from nothing to the cute little stars and wagon wheels that John used to love!!!). When you point the camera to him and say "say cheese", he kicks his head back and opens wide and SMILES!!! It's so precious!!!

Poor Little Guy

Right after I posted the last post, I got a call from the school nurse -- John was running a fever and needed to be picked up :-(. Of course, Aaron and I immediately headed to the school and when we got there, John was in the nurse's office and the first thing he said was "I'm so sorry Mom". It really made me stop to wonder why in the world he would be sorry. When I asked him, he just said "well, I just wish you didn't have to stop your day to come get me". Bless his little heart! He was able to explain his All About Me poster to his classmates and was really proud of it getting hung in the hallway! After we got home, he was actually a little bit hungry, so I fixed him lunch and, at his request, he ate it off his "sick tray" on the chair (we NEVER eat in the family room!). He felt sooooo special!

It's All About Me!!!

JL was "Student of the Week" at his school and he needed to bring a poster that showed things that would describe him. We have been working on this poster since last September because JL was worried that his teacher would pick him quickly and it wouldn't be done in time (I hope this trait continues for him!!!). The only thing that JL didn't do himself was write his name in glitter ink :-) otherwise, he did it all. You would be surprised at how many of the parents did their child's poster for their week, but I really wanted J to be creative and to learn to do it himself -- and he was so proud of his poster! One of my favorite things is his drawing of money and his note "I like money"! Even though he didn't feel real well this morning (his allergies are acting up), he was so anxious to get to school this morning and show off his poster and to hear his name called by his Principal.

Happy 10 Months, A!!!

It's so hard to believe that you're now in double digits! You are such an angel and such a pleasure....we love, love, love you soooooo much! Happy 10 Month Birthday Sweet Baby A!!!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

We had soooo much fun yesterday! We went to the Houston Galleria and J & JL went ice skating! To be honest, I was so scared that J would be the one that would fall and hurt himself, but surprisingly enough :-) he did great! JL was very cautious and not real sure of himself, but for the most part, did an excellent job for his first time on the ice! JL said that he is ready to go back "once my injury heals" (he fell once and it nicked his little hand and when he would squeeze it tightly, he could see a little bit of blood). We'll definitely be back for more fun!

A's Boo-Boo

On Sunday while playing outside with the big kids and Daddy, A took a nose dive onto the driveway, scratching his little nose. Other than a couple of bumps and small bruises, this was his first "real" injury....poor little baby, after this, he wanted nothing to do with his Daddy for a bit, and while I don't know that he'll ever admit it, I really think it hurt his Daddy's feelings! J felt so bad that A fell and hurt himself and wanted nothing more than to hold him to help make it feel better! He's such a good father to my boys!!! Here's a 2-days later picture to commemorate the event :-) The next picture shows a little from A's morning today....he LOVES the teletubbies and actually watched about 10 minutes of it without interruption....while that may seem like nothing to some, that is amazing for us that know A!!! He had a tough little day, still battling a stomach virus, but he still has time for a smile or two!

Like Father, Like Son

For the last several months, JL has been waking up along with his Daddy in the mornings to "get ready for work". It really has been cute watching JL go in and shave and brush his teeth/hair and sometimes even take a shower so that he can get ready for his day. This morning, I captured a shot that I think is really cute! What's funny is that he is so careful with his razor :-)

WOW...what a busy day!

Today was a very busy day for us. I've been scheduled for months to take a friend of mine to have some oral surgery done today and just last week, I realized that JL was out of school again today, so I'd have to tote him and A along for the ride. Bringing A along would have been no big deal, but I really wasn't looking forward to bringing JL too -- he's getting so much older that there's really no way to put a spin on it to make things like this "fun". Of course, as luck would have it, A woke up with a 101.1 fever and nasty poop...YUCK! So, before heading out to Houston, we stopped in to see our doctor and A was diagnosed with a stomach virus. He felt terrible most of the day, but was such a trooper, and JL -- well, you just cannot imagine how perfect he was. It was amazing. He really seemed so grown up today -- at one point, my friend wasn't following the doctor's orders and JL told him "you're not listening very well" and then later "didn't you just hear what my Mommy told you to do?". It was the cutest thing I've ever seen! JL certainly got rewarded for his good behavior -- not only did he get a new game for his DS (ATV/Monster Trucks), he got to go to the Galleria to see the ice skaters and this weekend, we're going to take him back to ice skate for the first time :-) That should be a lot of fun...hopefully I'll get plenty of pictures and will share them!

Happy New Year!!!

Our last year was so full of joy and blessings...here's to a fabulous 2008!!! We'll be attempting to keep track of all of our family activities here on this site so that our friends and family can keep up with us since we're so terrible about calling / returning phone calls.
