John + Emily

John and Emily have been friends for as long as I can remember. I truly believe that it really is a special friendship that few share at this age. If they could, they would spend days and days and days together...rarely tiring of each other. Emily has spent many a weekend at our house and John has loved it! We were taking John to the rodeo to ride in the Grand Entry parade this year and leaving Aaron at home. We asked John if he would like to bring a friend, and he thought long and hard and decided on Emily (honestly, he wanted to ask Alexander too, but since Alexander was going with his parents later that same week and also riding in the Grand Entry parade, he decided Emily would enjoy it too!) They had such a fun time and thoroughly enjoyed their "date". John refused to get dressed until Emily came over and he could see what she was wearing so that he could match her. It was really a sweet, sweet night!
Oh, and John recently informed me that he guessed he would have to marry Paige, Emily's big sister. When I questioned him as to why he wasn't going to marry Emily, he responded "cause she told me she just couldn't marry me". :-)

Happy Valentine's Day!

This shows what John's poor nose looks like! It was TERRIBLE! What's funny about it is that it actually looked light a "heart" on the tip of his nose and I overheard several ladies in the hallway talking about the "little boy that had a heart tattoo on his nose" Ha!Ha! Leave it to John!

YOU DID WHAT!?!?!?

Okay...so here's what happened. We went to the post office to mail some packages. John got out of the car and waited on the sidewalk for Aaron and I to get out and get our packages together. I noticed that John's nose was really red, but didn't really think much of it -- actually, I just thought that he had been picking his nose AGAIN... We went inside and after a couple of minutes, John came up to me and started crying saying that he burned his nose on the light outside. I obviously had no idea what he was talking about, but once I questioned him again, I realized that the sidewalk lights were on outside since it was a cloudy day and he bent down to see it and his nose touched the cover and burned it. We went to see Amy to ask her what she thougth we should do and she sent us to the ER to get it taken care of. Needless to say, I don't think John will be "snooping" around the lights anymore! It's hard to see in this picture the extent of the burn, I'll post another one to show it a couple of days later.

John cracks me up!

In March, John decided that he was a Monster Truck driver and drove the jalopy all over the place! He has such a vivid imagination!

A first for Aaron Sloan!

We took our first bike ride on the back of Mommy's bike! Aaron wasn't really sure that he liked it or not, but went along for the ride anyway! I think the helmet is so big for him that he has a hard time holding his head up!!!

Happy 100th Day of School!

It was the 100th Day of School and they had a HUGE celebration! John (okay...I mean "Johnny") :-) decorated his own shirt for the occasion!

Pajama Party Fun!!!

The PTA at John's school hosted a "Pajama Party" reading night. You were supposed to wear your favorite pajamas and come to read books with your friends. After dinner, Jimmy told John to go put on his favorite pj's so that they could get going and not arrive late. Well, John did what he was told.....I WAS CRACKING UP!!!! I think the look on his Dad's face was absolutely PRICELESS!

Needless to say, John didn't wear his favorite pajamas...instead, he opted for his "famoclauge" pj's that the Happy Cupid left for him :-)

Happy Hibernation!

John's class was studying hibernation in February and he simply could not wait to bring Honeyfitz with him to school! John dressed Honeyfitz in the same outfit that he bought for Aaron to wear and brought him to school to hibernate overnight. It was really, really cute!

Time to Get "Caught Up"

So much has been going on with us over the last couple of months and I just haven't taken the time to post, so here's a HUGE "what's new" for us :-) Towards the end of January, John and Alexander made there way to the Monster Jam. They had SO MUCH FUN!!! Along for the ride were Uncle Bobby, Aunt Teresa and cousins, Jennifer, Jana and newly adopted, Justin! Here are a couple of pics to remember the evening!!!
